This bed has 10 solid Golden Pine slats: 2.1cm thick and 14.5cm wide. With less than a 7cm gap between each slat, your mattress will be firmly supported, permanently!

Small Super King and Super King size beds have a solid centre beam support.

Our space saving 'Traditional' beds are made with Golden Pine and crafted using traditional carpentry methods to ensure they are both sturdy and stylish. Choosing this design helps you get the most out of your available space and even upsize your mattress without taking up extra space. With the legs tucked underneath the frame and no protruding corners, there’ll be no more bruises from bumping into the bed frame! And it’s so much easier to tuck your sheets in! These beds are slightly smaller than the mattress so that the mattress overhangs the sides and end by up to approximately 1.9cm (3/4”), maximising the size of the mattress allowed in smaller rooms. And if you like simple, stylish design this classic space-saver ticks all the boxes.

The ‘Traditional’ design allows you to choose any combination of looks from our range of top-quality water-based stains, water-based paints and selection of Belgian linens, soft jean cottons or easy clean velvets. You can mix and match the colour and finish on the headboard, frame and leg options to create your own unique look that suits you and your bedroom!

We ensure the quality and ethical production of every aspect of our beds from start to finish. We don't ship products thousands of miles, enabling us to control the quality of the FSC wood, the type and quality of mattress fillers, the workmanship, the limited packaging that is reused and the free services - deliveries, assembly, returns and the removal of old beds and mattresses with recycling. Your bed will be skilfully handmade with traditional carpentry methods in our environmentally friendly London workshop, ensuring it is solid, comfortable, beautiful and will stand the test of time. We recycle 98% of our waste and use only water-based finishes on our FSC® certified wood and with our beds coming in sections, they can fit into all homes with no need to worry about narrow hallways or stairs!

Dimensions...

• Height to the top of the bed frame that the mattress sits on varies according to the leg or bed design you choose.
• We make special sizes upon request. Some retailers supply non-standard UK sizes, so please be sure to check your mattress is approximately the same size as our mattresses, give or take 2.5cm
  (1”). If you don't see the size you are looking for, please call us on 020 3927 7777 to discuss custom made options.
• All mattresses vary in length and width by, give or take, 2.5cm (1”). This is wise to expect no matter where your mattress comes from.

Slightly reclined, with rounded edges, this design will bring a grandeur to your bedroom and is the perfect angle for you to sit up and relax with your favourite book. Our platform bed is simplicity itself! With the legs tucked underneath the frame so that there are no protruding corners, you save that extra little bit of space and keep them out of the way of your knees and toes!

Dimensions

We have made our "Traditional" bed frames to be as streamlined as possible. The bed frame itself is approximately 7 cm tall (3 inches). Add this to the length of the legs that you have chosen and that will be the height the mattress sits on.

Our Traditional space saving bed frames are made to be slightly smaller than the mattress that sits on them, allowing the mattress to sit over the edge approximately 1.9 cm (3/4 of an inch) all the way around the bed. This allows the bed to take up a minimal 'footprint' in your bedroom whilst moving the corners and legs of the bed away from being in the path of your feet and knees as you walk past and get in and out of bed daily.

Stains

We offer many beautiful wood-enhancing stains that are completely water-based and safe for our environment, animals, and children. Our stain finishes include Black, Oak, Medium Oak, Teak, Red Mahogany, and English Oak. All of these stains have a two-part high-quality final lacquer finish applied to enhance the grain and longevity of our beds.

Paints

Our premium water-based paint is applied by top craftspeople from the industry within a controlled environment for lasting quality. The finishes are healthy for the environment, people, and pets. We don't offer painted finishes for the frame of our Original beds, but we can customise it for you at no extra cost. Just contact us for more information.

Fabrics

We hand-upholster our headboards with top-quality 100% Belgian linen, soft jean cotton, or easy-clean velvet fabrics fitted by our upholsterers using quality fillers. Available in various colours.

Unfinished

Select 'unfinished' to leave your bed sanded and 'ready to finish' so you can match the paint, fabric, or wood colours within your home.

Varnish

Select 'varnished,' and we will use clear lacquer but no staining - just a cleanable, protected, and well-finished wood presence.

All of our "Traditional" beds apart from the low leg version, have enough clearance height underneath the frame so as to accommodate our largest storage boxes. Designed specifically for our beds to offer the perfect place to hide away clothes, extra bed linen, shoes, bags, and toys. They are available in any of our beautiful wood enhancing finishes and paints, which are completely water-based and safe for our environment, animals, and children.

The stain or paint covers the external faces of these sturdy boxes, which are designed to slide smoothly across a carpeted bedroom floor. For wooden floors, just add sticky felt protectors (as with all other furniture), to protect the floor. We supply and apply the felt for free on delivery, you will need to maintain or replace it as required in the future.

Our underbed storage boxes are meticulously crafted in our environmentally friendly London workshop using traditional skills and techniques by the expert hands of our carpenters.

3/4 length storage boxes:

• Height: 26 cm with Tall legs or 18 cm with Medium legs (when placing an order for a frame, the right storage drawer height options will be offered as a final selection in the ordering process)
• Depth: 50 cm

Given the dimensions above, this allows for one underbed storage box for a single frame and two (one on either side) for a small double bed or larger.

The drawers are supplied flat-packed with a simple bolt-together strong design and are assembled by our installation delivery crew - free of charge.
