This bed has 10 solid Golden Pine slats: 2.1cm thick and 14.5cm wide. With less than a 7cm gap between each slat, your mattress will be firmly supported, permanently!

The Chic is a simple, elegant, fabric bed, combinng comfort with style. Like all the beds we craft in our London workshop, we use solid, top-quality, sustainably sourced wood throughout the frames, legs, supports and slats.

The Chic range of beds is primarily 'space-saving,' meaning that the mattress sits on top of the frame, reducing its footprint within your bedroom.

Choose the type of fabric and the colour that suits you from our curated selection of 100% natural Belgian linens, soft jean cottons or easy-to-clean velvets. Then enhance the natural grain of the wooden legs by selecting the colour of the wood stain finish to complete the look of your new Chic bed.

We ensure the quality and ethical production of every aspect of our beds from start to finish. We don't ship products thousands of miles, enabling us to control the quality of the FSC wood, the type and quality of mattress fillers, the workmanship, the limited packaging that is reused and the free services - deliveries, assembly, returns and the removal of old beds and mattresses with recycling. • We make special sizes upon request. Some retailers supply non-standard UK sizes, so please be sure to check your mattress is approximately the same sizes as our mattresses, give or take 2.5cm (1"). • Eton & London headboards: The total height of a Chic bed with these headboards is 106cm from the floor, and the headboard itself is 75cm high. From 75cm, deduct the thickness of your mattress, and what is left is the height that the headboard will rise above your mattress.
• November & December headboards: The total height of a Chic bed with these headboards is 85cm from the floor, and the headboard itself is 54cm high. From 54cm, deduct the thickness of your mattress, and what is left is the height that the headboard will rise above your mattress.

Stains

We offer beautiful wood-enhancing stains that are completely water-based and safe for our environment, animals, and children. Our stain finishes include Black, Oak, Medium Oak, Teak, and Red Mahogany. All of these stains have a two-part high-quality final lacquer finish applied to enhance the grain and longevity of our beds. Select 'Varnish,' and we will apply two coats of clear lacquer without stain, leaving just a cleanable, protected, quality wood finish.

Fabrics

We hand-upholster our headboards with top-grade 100% Belgian linen, soft jean cotton, or easy-clean velvet fabrics fitted by our upholsterers using quality fillers. All our fabrics are available in various colours.

Add our storage boxes which are  finished to match your bed legs, for a sleeker, tidy bedroom reality.

Designed specifically for these beds, the boxes offer the perfect place to hide away clothes, extra bed linen, shoes, bags, and toys. They are available in any of our beautiful wood-enhancing finishes to match the bed legs. All our paints and stains are water-based to be safe for our environment, children and animals.

The chosen stain will cover the external faces of these sturdy boxes, designed to slide smoothly across a carpeted bedroom floor. For wooden floors, simply add sticky felt protectors (as with all other furniture) to protect the floor. We assemble the drawers* and apply the felt for free on delivery; you will need to maintain or replace the felt, if required in the future.

Our underbed storage boxes are meticulously crafted using traditional skills and techniques applied by the expert hands of our carpenters.

Given the dimensions above, this allows for 1 storage box under a single frame and 2 (1 on each side) under a small double bed or larger.

IMPORTANT: adding storage boxes to the ‘Chic’ bed requires fitting 6cm longer legs which increases the height underneath the bed, to the top of the mattress and to the top of the headboard.

*Drawers are supplied flat-packed with a simple bolt-together strong design
